SVT Back in Action

Who says lightning doesn’t strike twice? Ford surely doesn’t think so, as it’s all but forgotten SVT (Special Vehicle Team) is back in action. Ford will now offer “one performance Mustang and one performance truck in our lineup going forward” said executive vice president, Mark Fields at the 2006 New York Auto Show.

500 Horsepower for the 2007 Shelby Cobra

It’s official, after months of speculation and rumors, final testing has indicated that the most powerful factory-built Ford Mustang ever just got even more potent. Final certification testing of the Shelby GT500′s 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 shows it will produce 500 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque – 25 more horsepower than preliminary estimates.

2006 Mustang GT-H Hertz Racer

Ford, Shelby, and Hertz Team Up for Special Edition Racer

In a throwback to the famed Shelby GT350H “Rent-A-Racer” program from the 1960s, Ford Motor Company, Shelby Automobiles and The Hertz Corporation are partnering to produce a special run of performance-modified Ford Mustang GTs – designated Shelby Mustang GT-H, for “Hertz”.
