GeigerCars GT520 Mustang

GeigerCars GT520 Mustang Front ClipHow much excitement and sporty character can the current Ford Mustang really offer? GeigerCars tries to answer to this question by delivering a 520 horsepower Mustang dubbed the GT520.  Reaching a top speed of 178 mph - this European, err American, tuner car dashes from 0-62 mph in just 4.2 seconds. How’s that for an exhilarating ride?

More power through displacement and supercharging is the recipe behind the performance tuning of the GT520 4.6L 3v engine. Displacement was increased from 4.6 to 5.2 liters and the engine was extensively reworked. Precision-machining the cylinder heads, installing blower grind camshafts and reinforcing the valvetrain are part of their power treatment - as is a belt-driven supercharger with generously dimensioned intercooler. A fully stainless-steel high-performance sport exhaust system with high-performance manifold and metal catalysts round out the engine conversion.

BMR’s Quest For A 7 Second ‘05 Mustang

BMR's 7 Second Mustang With Wheelie BarsBMR, the same company producing hardcore suspension parts for the ‘05 and up Mustangs, had a vision of building a “streetable” 7 second 2005 Mustang.

Their project started with a black S197 Mustang GT equipped with 5speed, which was used as a company test mule for design of their latest products, and only had 233 miles on the “ticker”.

BMR’s intentions were to go all out and only keep the stock interior with upgraded racing seats and the NHRA required rollcage, with intentions of running in the Fun Ford and NMRA DR classes.  The project was designed to utilized an Inovative T-88 turbocharged 360 cube SBF, hopefully producing in the neighborhood of 1300-1400hp.  Follow along while we take you through BMR’s quest to build a 7 second 2005 Ford Mustang.

Modded Mustangs’ YouTube Video

Well, actually we made this video a year ago, though it was never passed around much or put on any major video sharing sites. So today, I registered an account on YouTube (yea I know I’m a loser for not having an account there yet, but hey we’ve got our own server :). We’ve got more videos in coming soon, though for now let’s give this one a shot. Check it out.

Bullitt To Return In 2008

2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt ConceptBuried in the middle of Ford’s “Way Foward” plan, about a leaner structure and new products, Ford president Mark Fields makes mention of a 2008 Mustang Bullitt. As part of Ford’s commitment to produce refreshed Mustangs every year, Fields was quoted as saying “We added additional Mustang derivatives to our near-term product plans – to ensure we have at least one new Mustang every year. One of those will be the return of the Bullitt, and it’s coming in 2008.”

While this news is new to many Mustang enthusiasts, it comes as little suprise for some. Back in August of 2005, Motor Trend speculated a return during coverage of the 2001 Bullitt… just in time for the 40th anniversary of the 1968 film starring Steve McQueen.
