Swapping a 2.3 for ?

I have an 89 Mustang with a basic 2.3 liter engine. i want to swap the engine with a more powerful engine. Does anyone know any engine that would be a good easy swap, or just a good engine to swap it with?

whell duh the most popular swap in the world just swap out the 2.3 140 for a 5.0 302 or a 5.8 351 which is just a more powerful stronger 5.0 or take a svo/turbo coupe motor 2.3t stroke it to a 2.5 with a holset hx-35 and get a 400hp
the possibilities are endless its just up to you, how much your willing to spend and if you want a 10 second racecar or a street car/ daily driver

2.3L Turbo would be mildly less conventional than a 5.0 swap, keep your weight balance, and be easily buildable, though probably not as cheaply as a 5.0 would be. If you go that route, I'd go for one from a turbocoupe, that way you can grab the intercooler at the same time.

If you really want to be unique, grab the Turbo 4.0L I6 from an australian Ford Falcon XT6 (or is that XR6...?). 300hp, 300 lb/ft of awesome. Though that would probably be fairly pricey...
