are you sure your tires are balanced and your rims arent bent.if you have bad tie rods your car will shake like a shopping cart with a F ed up caster

You can get those rubber rag joints at any auto parts store.. As far as your steering shaking, does it always do it, or is it only while applying the brakes?

If its only while hitting the brakes, you need to get your front rotors turned, or replaced. If you have a tire out of balance or a bent rim, it will constantly shake and wear the tie rod end(s) out faster than normal... if thats been the case for a while and you just put new tires and balanced them, but left bad tie rod ends on it, any small bump might set the wheel in a shake, since the tie rod end is bad.

The best way to know for sure is to check it.. jack it up, block the back wheels and put the front on jackstands. Then get someone to turn the steering wheel a little. Watch the tie rod ends and the wheels, to see if the tie rod moves but the wheel doesnt. (slack in the tie rod end) After that, you can try grabbing each front wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and give it a shake back and forth to check for play. You might have more play in one wheel than the other.

i feel it in the steering wheel i think its because i have no rag joint and the alignment is off i would not be suprised if it was the brakes my back left shoe is cracked. but my rag joint will be fixed tomorrow so i may loose some of the shake.

sounds like a belt in the tire is /has slipped .{outa round} you can jack it up and spin it fast to see if there is a high spot or take it to a shop of ur choice. i work at a tire shop and it sounds like a broken belt. my 2 cents
