Any 4 Cyl To v8 Conversion Questions?


questions on 4 to 8 conversions?
I converted my fuel injected 4 banger to a carbed v8
if any one has any questions on how to do it or what parts to use
just post tyour questions
and i did it as cheap as possible

how much was it to accomplish and what all needed to be replaced?

I have a 1990 2.3 thats begging for the conversion. thank you

didnt keep track and i got a lot of free stuff and it depends on how far you want to convert

i'd be doing the motor, trans, brakes, suspension, and rear end. I want to just find a wrecked 5.0 and steal all the goodies.

Yes, I am doing this now


Questions:

Can I take the airbag out of my 90 LX and use it in the 89 4 cyl?

What do I need as far as wiring? I am also taking the dask from the LX and transfering it to the 4 cyl

I am going to use the v8 air cond? What do I need to do?


So far I have changed the rear, what about rear brake lines, I see they are in 2 different locations, I guess I just run some replacement lines to the different fittings?

I have some questions, of course I have and will continue to search.
I have a 87 convertible 5spd, with a 2.3L but I have a 302 from a 85 Thunderbird. I was wondering if the tranny from the 4cyl would fit the 302.
"I know that it would be recommended to get one from a V8 mustang but I haven't had any luck finding one.

Also would I have to get different engine mounts for the 302??


What kind of aftermarket fuel management options are there for an 87?? Is it possible to get my current ECU chipped/modified to run the 302??

Hey..I just bought my first car...A 1989 Mustang LX. It currently has a 2.3 4 cyl..Took me a while but I found a 5.0L OH 302..I want to convert, problem is I don't know much about these engines, or where to start =o\ The guy I bought the engine from threw in the rad, computer and harness, and drive shaft...they're all from a 86..
Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated!!!

i have a 91 fox body and want to convert to a 5.0. what all do i have to change to body and frame to accomplish this.?Also what other mods. to the suspension will i need?

hi new to this site converting a 1988 4cy to a v8 302 bought a 89 body with a v8 freshly removed took my v8 out of my converted 81 lx motor mounts will not work what could the problem be are there differetn mtr mounts that i need or do i have to drillholes the 81 88 holes seem to be further apart then the 81 need hel

if it is a T5 tranny it should with a 302 housing

the 2.3 to a 5.0 is the worlds most popular swap
gotta change motor mounts, rear ends, power steering rack, wiring harness if your going EFI, stiffing the subframe, i know theres more but this is pretty much it

I just bought a 86 coupe (4cyl of course) and I'm planning to put a 347 carb. in it. this will be a drag only car. how much trouble am I looking at? any tips? by the way its an A.T. any help would be appreciated

hey, I have an 88 lx 4banger I'm in the middle of swapping it with a 5.0 from an 87, (both EFI) I feel I'm making good progress with all the parts I have laying around, but want to make sure everythings right the first time! anyone know a website that might have a guide to these conversions?
