its called guessing.

Also I know it goes faster then 85 obviously but not much faster so 90 - 92 is where its at.

I could clock myself for a mile or have somebody else ride beside me to test it.

Got the chilton's manual... but it doesn't spell out how to remove the engine, it just has all the instructions I need to follow those general guidelines I have there...

I have a few complaints, it falls short in a few areas... got the haynes counterpart... still there are pieces missing that seem like they should be there. I guess I shouldn't complain since I'm getting everything done with no problems, but some of the directions are vague... and some non-existant... I'm finding I need both manuals to get the whole story.

Anyone know a better manual to recommend?

this isn't that hard man.. since your going to need a new wiring harness for the 5.0 swap don't bother trying to save the 2.3 one..

kinda do this.. if something is in the way of the cherry picker getting the motor out.. unbolt it or cut it off.. you won't be reusing it anyway.

No. Not the motor harness, at least.

no the ecu and engine harness will not work. My buddy and i have done the swap several times. If you dont have a 5.0 donor car, then don't even bother. you will be searching for small bullshit parts forever.

True, but the 5.0 came in that chassis, was wildly popular, and parts are rediculous plentiful, including those to do the swap.

yeah and the 120 was probably because of gearing. plus those 4.6's are no joke the pi's blow the doors off a 5.0. your all gonna call bullshit but i saw a twin cam saturn beat a 5.0 from the dig and the roll ive got about 10 people to back it up to.

I have seen a lot of stuff beat a 5.0. The guy who I got my car from beat an intake and cammed 5.0 by 1.5 cars.

Everyone says everything beats a 5.0. 5.0s are what I call "yardstick cars", because they're what everyone measures their crap against. LS1 Camaros, Cobras, Corvettes, Porsches, and Vipers all fall into that category, too.
