new guy here with plenty of questions
Hi there all, I just recently got a 93 2.3 convertible from my friend. I have never owned a mustang before. He gave it to me because he is tired of working on it. I guess the reason I am writing is because I need yalls opinion on wether i should sell or keep the car. i have 20 bucks to my name.
Here is what is wrong with it it needs a new top, all if it, glass and all both outside doorhandles are missing major exhaust leak he said it slips because it has a leak on a seal on the transmission but if i keep it full it doesn't slip the radiator is is 5 months old and it leaks as fast as u fill, runs straight through, might be a hose or drain plug might need whole new rad. the good... 93k miles it was my buddys daily driver till he got the radiator leak and parked it it was free brand new tires all around ive always wanted a fox body even if it is a 4 banger (and silly slow even though ive been on the highway with him doing 75) i have no idea how much all of it will cost to fix and was wondering if u guys could maybe ballpark me. things like the radiator and exhaust i can do, but i've never done a top and even though i've pulled transmissions before i still would hate to change a seal myself cause i dont have a lift anymore. do you guys think it cost more to fix the car than the car is worth? how much do yall think the car is worth? besides the top being bad the exterior looks nice, the interior looks like someone let a tazmanian devil loose in it though. thanks for all of you guys time, i appreciate it alot. |

well as to what i want to do with it right now is just to make it a reliable daily driver and maybe one day go with a 351c t5 swap, but that would be a long way down the road.
as to parting it out, if i where to get rid of it, would be alot quicker and easier to sell the whole thing, but even then i dont know whats worth what on these. it is in running condition. like i said it was a daily driver till the rad went and those are way easy to change especially with that much room under the hood. thanks for the replies you two |

as for how much it costs to fix, i dunno. but if you could get it up and running, it would be a nice DD.. especially cruisin with the top down. do you have another car for a DD? if so you could just take the top completely off and drive it on good weather days completely topless.

if i remember correctly the tops are like 400 from mustangs unlimited the tranny seal is not to bad i dont think and you could probably pick up a rad pretty cheap from a junk yard the car in perfect condition is worth maybe 1000 if you dont have the money to fix the problems you could prolly get a few hundred maybe more for it.
