5.0 Swap

Would I need to change the suspension to accomodate a 5.0? What else should I change?

Need to? No.

Should you? Abso-f*%#ing-lutely.

You should makes sure everything is 5.0 spec or better, suspension, transmission, rear-end, the works.

Use the search function/google, and you'll see what the exact differences were betwen 2.3 and 5.0 cars.

the 2.3 mustang and the 5.0 suspension were the same the only thing you would need to change is the rear axle from the 7.5 to an 8.8 posi rear

That's not true. Beyond the rear end, spring rates are different, the power steering rack is different, the routing of the fuel and brake lines is different, the crossmember is different, and most importantly, the front brakes on a GT are larger - to big to fit behind stock 4-banger rims. Maybe not all technically suspension, but important differences nonetheless.

There's also at least 4 different specs of T-5 that I can think of, of which the 2.3L Mustang and 5.0 Mustangs are on opposite ends of the scale. If you think you can just bolt up a 5.0 to a 2.3-spec T-5 and go, well, more power to you. Just have a spare ready for when it goes.

Sorry, I just re-read the above... when I said the crossmember was different, I meant the transmission crossmember. Realized it may not have been clear
