walk from the passenger side to the drivers side, there's 4 more cylinders on the other bank.

It is very possible to Put a 2.3 in an SN95 as they are the same chassis and k member basically. That is the only way you have seen one. And I've thought about doing it a few times. So i know someone else would have too.

...it doesn't exist unless someone swapped one in there.

There are No Factory 4 cylinder engines in a 1994 Mustang. They DO NOT EXIST

regardless a 4 cyl 94 would be something to see. Even more so if it had some monstrus power.

Back in 1991, during the development of the SN95 Mustang, Ford assembled dozens of confirmation prototypes at their Danou Technical Center in Allen Park Michigan. Among these test platforms were a variety of vehicles which were equipped with NON-production engines, including the 2.3L, which never saw production. While possible, it is unlikely that any of these vehicles made it outside of Ford’s development facilities, neither did the first 70 or so units off of the production line. We will probably never see SN95 100001. Many of these vehicles met an untimely end, during various destructive testing sessions. I think that my next project will involve a 2.3L engine swap into an SN95. I’m about a third of the way there now.

Wow, This seems funny/Fair.

As soon as he mentions something he see's everyone attacks..

Maybe someone Swapped, Maybe someone didn't?
Maybe someone isn't an automotive expert?

99% of the morons that come to my shop don't even know what year the car is.

"As soon as he mentions something he see's, everyone attacks.."

Well, that is the problem with communicating with the written word, it can’t always demonstrate the tone of a message, and the glass is half empty or full depending on the observer.

The question posed was; how rare is a 94’ (were assuming he meant SN/95) 4 cylinder Mustang. I answered the question by finding out from friends who worked at Ford, if such a thing ever existed and I re-iterated what I was told. Ford did build at least one conformation test vehicle with the 4 cylinder mill and its whereabouts were unknown.

The way the question was posed, inferred that this was a factory built car, otherwise it would have been posed as “how hard is it to swap a 4 cyl into an SN/95, I spotted one at the JY and…..

Like the rest of us, I am curious to see this thing, since I have been contemplating the idea for a while and would like to see what the installation looks like.

No one has attacked anyone. I believe he may have seen a 1994 Mustang with a 4 cylinder engine in it, but the one he saw was not factory. Anything can "exist" if you make it to be, but an engine swapped car is not rare. You can swap a viper engine into a Mustang, but that doesn't mean it came that way.

The amount of morons that come into your shop are irrelevant. This is a Mustang forum. There are people here that know the ins and outs of every model made. Ford has not offered a four cylinder Mustang since 1993.

If you can get this project going, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the build. I might possibly be looking into a very similar setup after college as a drift build. Hmm.... lol

Good luck and I'll be watching!

This 2.3 swap is already happening. It's actually a 2.3T into a 94GT car.

Check out his build. Say hi and learn something about the 2.3T's if you don't already know about them. Full of technical info.

My guess is it was some backyard swap. Guy probably had a wrecked 2.3 Fox body, a SN95 with a blown motor, and some time on his hands...

Pretty common. I have owned a few. They are really fast because of all the weight reduction. I had one with all motor and 500 hp to the tires, with a 20 shot of nitrous. I have you tube videos racing lambos and civics etc. It had a v8 grumble too!!

But seriously..
Go to the jy, take pics, post pics, happy time.
