Well, if boost can be part of the equation, then 400hp is not out of the question for a 2.3L. NA you *might* be able to see 200hp, but the amount of money that would take would pay for the 5.0 swap.

well a roller cam would do you about 10Hp and a cold air intake would be about 5HP

these motors definately weren't made to take forced induction. gotta build up the engine if you're going to boost it

I change my mind if i biult that motor up and only got like 200HP i could get 200HP stock out of the 302 or a 351.. so im not going to bother

Umm, what? Ever heard of an SVO? What about a Turbo Coupe? These motors love boost! Turbo Coupe with the intercooler was pushing over 200hp from a boosted 2.3L, and that's certainly nowhere near the limit of that motor's potential - the stock block is good for 400hp.

SVO had the turbo from the factory, I don't know how (or if) the internals are any different. Might ask the SVO guys.

Last time I checked, Esslinger sold a 2.9L stroker kit. All things being equal, that should give about a 20-25% power gain just based on displacement. I know that I've read several accounts of 400hp from turbo 2.3L motors, and Esslinger has one that puts out something like 900 in a sandrail. I'm assuming that has a crapload of boost and a heavy hit of NOS (Still, even with a 250 shot, that's over 600hp). It's certainly within reason to build a streetable 300hp with these motors.
