87 Turbo coupe Ideas?
Hey guys. Just bought a TC for $1200 It has 140000 on her. My first car was an 83 TC and was probably the funnist car ive owned. Right now im in Baghdad, so i havent seen the car in person. All im doing is thinking of ways to make here beautiful again, and bring the ponys back. Here is what i have planned thus far... Please somone with 2.3 knowledge tell me wht the best route for me to take is.

Sounds like you have some decent ideas. I have a 87 T-bird TC and I love it. I would use Royal Purple or Mobile 1 Full Synth. Those are what I run in my car, they're better for the high mileage older engines and their turbo's longevity. Your oil filter is a terrible call. I wouldn't put FRAM on a lawn mower. Royal Purple makes a nice filter, as does K&N. Wix makes an amazing filter because it has a retainer gasket inside the filter to keep some of the oil in it at all times so when you start your car you get a wet start. I would get a bigger turbo, these engines can push out a ton of power as they are. Make sure you get some good rings and gaskets for your rebuild, a better oil pump ect. It's easy to make these 250hp to 300hp engines. I would get a 5 speed and the 3.73 or the 3.5 rear end our of a T-Bird TC.
