New Member Intro and A quick question

Okay All My name is Mark I have always been mustang fan and have owned a few I went to the import side for awhile and had a few fast turbo 4 cylinders. I recently had gotten rid of my last import project and came across a 86 2.3L Coupe LX. I have driven this car growing up as it was my stepmothers since 1/20/1986 I am getting it for either nothing or next to nothing and plan on going through it with a fine tooth comb as it is not a DD so I will have all the time in the world to make it right.

Okay now for my quick question I don't really care for the rear quarter windows with louver look and would prefer the 87-93 quarter windows. Are these an easy swap or is there a lot of modification involved? Also would the 87 and up tails fit or more mods done there as well?

Thanks in advance for you help.
Mark

Mark, I am not 100% sure on the difficulty of the side window swap, but I have seen people swap the side windows before. Lights and bumper facias are no big deal to swap.

Craig.

Yeah I have not seen the car in years but a free project is still a free project. I am getting it in a couple of weeks after I get my workshop set up and the garage cleaned out. The nice thing is I will be the 2nd owner I am not sure how far I will go into that as I know modifying a 4eye is frowned on but it is my car so we will see. She had a Maaco paint job done probably 10 years ago and it is just a mess so I am looking forward to the challenge of restoration. American Muscle seems to have a lot of parts for that. So how much did the Esslinger Head set you back. I am trying to stick with a 4 cylinder but I am unsure which way to go.

The quarter windows (if like the 87-93) won't be a problem. remove the interior panels and there should be either 3 or 4 nuts holding them on. real easy to take out .. I've removed the quarter glass in my car when I painted it and it was a breeze taking them out .. and I do think they are interchangable with 87-93 foxes ... Is you car a hatch or coupe?
