Four cylinder fuel economy compared to v6 and v8 fuel injected models
I'm new to the forum and I know that I want a fox era convertible. I haven't decided on a 4,6, or 8 yet. (leaning towards the 5.0 though). My experience with four bangers has been with a 90 Honda Si 5 speed and a 97 Acura CL2.2 5 speed. The SI was rated at 90 hp and I always averaged 32 mpg in mixed driving. (I got up to 40 mpg at 55 mph.) The CL is rated as 145 hp and I average around 28 mixed, with up to 32 mph at 70 mph on trips. I've got an '07 Pony V6 that easily returns 25-27 mph on a long trip at 65-70. As you might have surmised,
fuel economy is important to me. I like four bangers but don't know if the 2.3 could satisfy me. So, what does a stock 5 speed 4, 6, and V/8 get?

They average around 25-28, but that really depends on how you drive them. They can be modified for a modest power increase, without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
