take out the box and put a cone type air filter in the fender and use 3 inch piping or bigger. just keep in mind the less bends on the piping less restiction

93 stang well one thing i did on my 93 is i got 3 inch exhaust galvanised pipe and painted it red to match the color of the car. it worked great. and also the cone filter did wonders for it too. i did not go with the k&n filter though. i went with a similar non restricting one insted. it was cheaper and it seems to work better,.

Ya for sure get a cone type filter then pain the white part and orileys makes a blue or black adapter that would go from the pvc pipe to the throttle body. I have one.
Here is a picture of the adapter. (and yes i have the hose clamp on a little cock eyed) lol

That sounds fine to me. We dyno tested a bunch of this stuff one day on a customers car that had low miles on it and was in excellent condition. I was surprised to find that after removing the intake muffler baffles, everything we tried afterward, made little to no difference, even when we changed fuel and spark trims. We tried every trick in the book and a bunch of air intake parts. HP climbed slightly when we removed the air filter element all together and had no noticeable drop after installing the K&N filter element in the stock air box. We came to the conclusion, that unless the cars engine was highly modified, there was no need to change the stock air box. At 207 HP I am probably reaching the limit now.

OHC230, I recently put in a K&N Style airfilter in my stang, and re-plumbed the whole intake tract. I did it with 3" pvc, and i can definitely feel it pull more in the 3500-4500 range. The stock airbox seemed sluggish in that range, like when i tried to pass someone. It almost seemed like it was starving for air.

Nothing wrong with that if it is working for you.
The power difference comes from the omission of the intake muffler and the addition of the low restriction air filter element. This will work much better if you add a header and at least a 2.5" exhaust to you car.

Alright. I've heard headers dont give that much of a performance gain unless you're above 5000rpm. And i'd love to put on some new piping, but frankly i dont have the time... How much are MSD Coil packs? Is that what you are running on your stang?
