2.3l rear

Well, tonight I'm going to purchase a 2.3l stang. The guy had on c-list wanting ti trade only to a car there for a while. He blew out supposedly the rear main seal now so he's selling. I'm not sure whether it leaks or is shot. It's clean. I've seen it but haven't had access to the inside or under the hood. It's clean enough I'm considering fixing te motor to drive temporarily. What's the scoop on replacing rear mains in these little 4 bangers? Is there an easy way to do it in a driveway? I'm guessing it's two piece. Is this a common problem? The car only has like 104,xxx miles on it. Any way it will soon be on the way to a 351w :-)

You'll have to drop the tranny to get access to the rear main... how much is it actually leaking and how quickly are you planning on getting the 351 in it?

Haha, not close to the 351 at all yet. That's why I'm
trying to fix it to run for now. If it was a knock or something then I'd just leave it set. Being that I only have a driveway to work in and that's it, is it something that would cost a lot for a shop to put in right now? Worth more to diy?
