turbo help

ok as many of u knwo i have been looking at just upgrading a 2.3 but i think plans have changed a bit. im leaning more towards a turbo. im keeping the engine that i was going to re build but going to make it turbo. i have a couple of concerns. im going to replace everything with forged parts but can i take svo parts like upper and lower intake and manifold. will it all bolt up or is it diff? will anything from Merkur XR4Ti work.
thanks for any help i can get.

As far as i know, everything is similar with the '84-'86 SVO's, '83-'88 TC's, and the turbocougs. Some of the intakes are better then the others but you can try some of these sites:

NATO - North American Turbocoupe Organization - NATO has just about every bit of information you could want on the TC's and I'm sure they have info about the SVO's. Only problem is they want $20 for you to join, I say, F that for now LOL

Fox T-Bird/Cougar Forums - They have all kinds of birds and cougs but they help out still

Ford 2.3 Forums - This site's kinda dead but you could find some information there possibly!

COOL****CATS ::****The 1983-88 Mercury Cougar - They are all about the turbo cougs so it might be of some help

Just thought i would try to help some since no one else has posted I hope you figure some things out!

All of the intakes do interchange. The NA ones are the same also. The only changes have been the knock sensor hole and one or two things not drilled. Same casting numbers even. Under force induction, there's not much differance in these intakes....well, till you port them.
