Still have a loud hammer sound, link to video


Ok, I bought this car to learn some things. I may have learned that I guess wrong often

Can anyone give me a hint at what this sound could be?

BTW, brief history of what I replaced:
+ battery
+ all 8 cam lifters
+ starter
+ starter solenoid
+ 4 spark plugs
+ spark plug wires

thats a wrist pin. a wrist pin can drive for many miles like that. its sounds like the rod to main bearings are going too though. in the second vid i heard another rattle lower down in the engine. basically the motors junk.

well luckily for you ford 2.3 are cheap to replace a good used ones usually $350-500

True. However, replacing the engine is not really on my to-do list. I think I will just sell it or part it out.
