A4LD questions

So I took my new-to-me '93 mustang over to Aamco for their free diagnostic to determine just what was wrong with my A4LD transmission.
Symptoms:
1. Delay in reverse shift
2. problem with 2-3 shift, engine revs up before kicking into third while at part throttle acceleration. could be slipping like Aamco said but possibly something else? Is that how a slipping gear change is supposed to feel?

Then I found this kit on ebay, specifically the symptoms that this kit supposedly resolves: S56165E Superior Shift Correction Kit A4LD KA4LD - eBay (item 130412939635 end time Jan-18-11 07:59:46 PST)

Is it possible that all I might really need is a rebuilt valvebody?

Anyway, they quoted me $950 to rebuild the damn thing---and thats with me pulling it myself and handing over the trans to them. I figure I'll run the car til the trans kicks the bucket, have AAA tow it and then move forward with the T5 swap

damn noobs why dont you read my thread about eec iv for noobs huh? no that kit wont help the delay thats just for firmer shifts.

Heres MY thread it covers your problems specifically go to the transmission part. delay or slamming in revers is the reverse servo wich is accessible if you drop the pan and try to adjust your bands. also deos it overev when you put the trans in D no OD. oh and for 900 to rebuld it thats just a soft rebuild no hard parts or updates. i used to work for a trans shop so pm me if u have any questions

Damn noobs yourself. I didn't read your thread because:

1. It didn't come up during the search I did back in November when I started working on the car AND
2. Its not a sticky

I may not know a whole hell of a lot about automatic transmissions but thats just because I haven't had a lot of experience with them. Just over 100+ post count that I've got only means that I'm a new member to MM, not to working on/owning Mustangs.

To answer your question, it overrevs in 2nd in both Drive and Overdrive selector positions.

I did read through 4 of the 5 pages on that A4LD rebuild thread; Definitely good information to take into consideration if I decide to attempt to rebuild mine. Looks like I'd definitely come out ahead doing it that way versus leaving it to someone else.
