Excellent. I'm really looking forward to doing this swap once spring rolls around. Is it as easy as it sounds? And as well, the weight reduction is fairly noticeable, since the auto weighs a hefty 40 or 50 lbs more, along with the trans lines + the cooler... So that, along with having five gears = MORE FUEL MILEAGE. and horsepower. Sorta. But most important... MORE FUN TO DRIVE! WOO HOO,. srry i'm biased against auto trannies... Parasitic bastards.

Some of the stuff can be a real pain in the ass to find and the shifter opening in an automatic car isn't even close to big enough for the T5 shifter to poke through. My suggestion is that you get the T5 bolted to the bellhousing, install the driveshaft and support the middle of the T5 with a jack. Remove the shifter from the T5 and fill the trans with 2.75 quarts of Mercon V fluid. Install the shifter and install the exhaust midpipe bracket into the rubber isolator then finish raising up the T5 so that you can bolt in the crossmember.

i know this thread is old but i was wondering if the 3.8 bellhousing will fit a 2.3 without any major/difficult mods?
