I read about a year ago about the guy who did the same swap in his 66 for his teenage daughter. I had a 66 coupe with a running i6 in it and the plan had been to do the swap myself but I didnt have any luck finding the right 2.3t engine for it. Figures..

Amazing I must have read your build threads a dozen times. I still plan to do the swap in the future, but I sold my 66 mustang in hopes of finding a engine-less 69 or 70 convertible. No luck so far! I couldn't live with myself if I ripped the heart out of a good whole matching car unless it was a sixer.

I almost did this to a 66 fastback I had several years before this one. The only reason I did not do it was work slowed down so much I had to sell something and I just finish restoring my Anglia and was racing it, I was not going to sell my metal 33 willys coupe I had bought a few years before, so the mustang had to go. The sad part is a few weeks after I sold it worked pick up. I wish I would have held onto it a little longer.
