yet another exhaust question...

You'd think by now this topic would be done and filed away but I came into another hurdle the other day...so first off this question is directed mainly towards Cali dwellers...Guy was going to install my speedflow header and redo exhaust but told me to first see if its smog approved(carb legit) cuz of the serial #'s. Didnt want me to have the system installed only to be told to switch it back...will this be a problem? Was planning on having the egr and o2 sensor hook up so I thought I was in the clear, any thoughts?

there are zero CARB approved headers available for the 2.3 mustang, so be prepared to find the "guy who knows a guy" in order to pass your visual check, or plan on a bi-annual exhaust system replacement back to stock.

oh - and just to be sure i am giving correct advice for your particular dilemma... what county do you live in? i believe some remote counties in nor cal do not require smog checks.

Crap I figured as much.....no I have no such luck I live in Riverside county in socal ...its just I've never seen them be specific about it...that's why I figured as long as the egress and o2 were hooked up all was gravy...thanks though

I'm in riverside county too... time for you to make some friends at a smog test / repair facility ;-).

If you have the option (sometimes you don't) make sure you do NOT go to a smog test only shop. The repair shop / smog check places are a bit less restricted on what they might be able to do for you.

Where in the I.E. are you?
