Max RPMs ?
i have this question because as i know the the rev limit in a 2.3 engines is 6300 rpms, but today i try make my engine rev to that top, and i figured that my rev limit is at 5500 range, is that normal?

is there even a rev limiter built into the eec?
Or is it just running out of steam?

there is a rev limiter, i believe that it is at 6,200 rmp. It will literally bounce it un der the right conditions. These engines with stock valvetrain will float valves at around 7,500, this is if they are carburated.

my gauge its ok, i really dont know what may be happening o0
my idle was hight because i recently changed my intake setup, and reseted the eec. now its about 800 rpms. |

i recently ran a 5.0 mustang on a chassis dyno, and it was about 600 rpm off, he had an aftermarket tach, and the tach on the dyno that both confirmed it was off.
