Looking at a 93 need advice

Hey guys, I'm currently looking at a 93 4 cyl fox for my little bro. I was told it runs and drives but might need some work. I was wondering if you guys knew any common problems that I should look for because I'm unfamiliar with fox bodies and the 2.3 motor

Drive it, see if it has power. I dont mean go and sunday cruise it, get on it and put it through some paces. That will tell you if it has problems. Remember it is a 4 cyl so its not going to be really powerful but you will be able to tell if it has issues. If nothing ticks or knocks from the engine, it is more than likely a good engine. Sensors fail on these way before the mechanical pieces do.
