cel codes a4ld
my 92 2.3 is not shifting into 4th gear and after running codes this is what I have
566 (O) transmission 3/4 shift solenoid/circuit - Transmissions 629 (O) Converter clutch control circuit failure I ran into this thread on a google search and they mention replacing a connector to fix the issue. links: A4LD (92 Mustang) - No overdrive - Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts "Serious Explorations"® A4LD transmission parts,A4LD transmission solenoids does anyone have any further knowledge on replacing this connector? |

problem fixed.
when I swapped in this tranny I did not connect the case connector I was referring to earlier completely. once fully engaged I took it out on the freeway and 65+ no problem. for some reason though it felt like four up shifts, this is a four speed trans right? so might there be something wrong with the tc that I feel five gears? |

yes 4 speed try some more driving from a dead stop on up and you should feel 3 shifts glad it was that simple
