2.3 problems


i just bought a 89 hatch and the 2.3 in it tops out at 60 mph. wth? im thinkin that the fuel filter maybe clogged or i need a new pump can someone point me in the right direction?

well how does the car run? and you know the 2.3 N/A's arent that fast

it runs good it just acts like there is no more power at higher speed.

sure, get an intake, a new exhaust system, some gears and nitrous or go with a turbo

it shudnt top at 60 tho... dont lie to the guy, u can get up to at least 100 stock, ull jus never kno cuz the speedometer tops out

hmmm how does the tranny and clutch feel?? does it feel like it skips a beat?

I can hit 63 before i have to take the car out of manual second and let it shift into 3rd.
so im thinking hed atleast hit 55 in second gear

clutch doesnt slip and when it was in the shop no codes were shown. and when i said tight i meant that there is no play in it and the clutch was just replaced. im goin to check the cats to make sure they arent plugged with stuff before i do anything else.

well no codes are gonna show because the car is NOT obd2 so nothing much is gonna come up, so the tranny is fine, its starting to sound like your EEC is fried
