Twin Charging a 2.3L

I am looking on Twin charging a 2.3L, looking to run app. 50 PSI on alcohol. What size chargers if anybody knows right off. Or would one single do it. This is on a Tractor Pulling so lag is not a issue really.

It comes down to how much HP you need and how much $$ you want to spend. You could use a fairly large supercharger on a 2.3L. My choice would be an Eaton TVS 2300 or a Lysholm 2300AX. I started to design a twin charger system for the 2.3 earlier this year, but I have that project on hold for now, I need more time to develop it.

If I understand you correctly, you want to build a compound turbo system for your 2.3, not a compound supercharged/ turbocharged system. The engineer in me would caution against a twin turbo system, on your 2.3L, unless you are building something which will require more than 1000 CFM. If you are building a 900-1000 HP engine, there is a long laundry list of items that will be required, if you plan on making more than one pull with the engine.

In most cases there will be a significant loss of efficiency using 2 turbo chargers. Despite what you may have been told, two aren’t better than one in most instances.

You didn’t mention how much HP you are looking to make, which is the most important issue here. It dictates; what cam lift profile, manifold and cylinder port volumes + turbo size you will need, as well as what the fuel system requirements will be.
