2.5 stroker

can u take the crank, rods, and pistons out of a 2.5L ranger and use them in ur 2.3? and if so, is there anything besides swapping the parts that u wud need, in terms of comps, diff head or valvetrain or anything?

first off the 2.3 has larger crank journals so that wont fit and the 2.3's pin height is lower and the rod lengths are different...unless you get new rods and psitons and bore the block 30" over...i would just use the 2.5 block from the ranger..its not worth that much trouble for a 2.3

well if you bore the 2.3 30" over then the pistons should fit, let me look into the rods

he just said this

Well the pistons have to be custom made first of all.
There should be some out there that will work. Diamond racing makes pistons for the head. They're required so if/when the timing belt snaps, you don't hit all 16 valves. Basically the pistons are needed to make the motor a non-interference motor
