83 2.3na vs 93 2.3 na
A buddy of mine just bough a 83 2.3 na and is wanting to buy my 93 2.3 block to put in his car. Does anyone know if the blocks are the same or would his head bolt up to block? Motor is carb. But don't think that plays any part.

The 93 block is the same geometrically. the head bolt pattern is the same from the 70s through 2001. BUT the new block does not have the cutout for a mechanical fuel pump. He could put his auxilary shaft (that runs the distributor and oil pump) in the newer block and have the hole machined open. But it will bolt up to his head with no issues. Plus the 93 block has the small main journals that are what you need to do a 2.5 crankshaft swap later on.

Ok well if he is keeping it carb he won't need to do anything to the block. He is keeping his head

He will have to use an electric fuel pump. other than that its a seamless swap.
