Front end noise

I've been having a funny popping noise coming from the front end of my car lately. It's driving me crazy. I think it's the struts, but nothing else indicates that. Anyone have this same problem? Its an 89 with 156,000 miles. The noise only happens on little bumps or curves. And it gets much more frequent when I have a passenger in the car.

It sounds as if someone takes a hammer and hits the front of my car. Diagnosing suspension isn't necessarily my forte lol. Thanks for any input

It might be a broken stabilizer bar link, check that first!

I'll double check those. Only looked at them real quick before I had to do my 45 minute drive to campus in the mornings. Hopefully its just the end links.

i had the same sound, and symptoms, and thought it was my struts too. i noticed my steering was loose also. i work as a mechanic and decided to look further. we do alot of suspension and front end work. so i put my mustang on our low boy and lifted it high enough to jiggle my front wheels back and forth. what i found was both my inner tie rods were loose so i replaced them both. now the noise is gone and my steering is back to normal. hope this helps.
