Higher Temp Thermostat For The 2.3L


ive been looking on this website alot lately...Ford 2.3L Performance - HotRodHigh.ca and they are mentioning that the ford 2.3L will operate better when its warmer... is there a higher temp thermostat that i can get that will work for my 88 vert? its almost time to pull this car apart and hope to get my list done by spring for some shows to show her in this year

yeah i seen that too...it just seems like she runs too cool.. like two notches above the 120 mark..

Plug in a mechanical guage if you are worried about it. How hot is the M in normal anyway?

Ive been told that too, but i have never had any luck if my engine ran over 200, they usually overheat quickly after they get there. I raced a 2.3 musang on dirt for 5 years and ive always had the best reliability and performance around 180.

it just seems like its running rich lately and doesnt help with that ebay short ram on it lol haha.. gunna build a new CAI next spring since i dont like the fact of the filter pointing in the direction of the radiator...rather have it in the fenderwell and towards the front of the car to catch a little more colder air

hot air going into the engine will cause problems, but not running rich. the o2 sensor , IAT, MAF or MAP they all should keep the engine burning within specified A/F ratio.
