Is the Capri Rs 1983 similar to SVO

Sorry if it's been asked before. I'm thinking of getting a 1983 Capri RS.

Is it pretty much like the SVO engine ?

The 83 Capri RS turbo was essentially the same car as the 83 turbo Mustang GT with the exception of the body panels. They were rated at 145 HP and 175 HP respectively. There were less than 400 of these produced making them very rare these days, which apparently has nothing to do with their value??

The SVO Mustangs were fitted with a few parts that didn’t make their way into the Capri or other Fox body platforms. The SVO had a different steering ratio 15:1, unique spring rates, Koni adjustable shocks, front suspension geometry was modified, the rear lower control arms were different, five lug, 16X7” wheels were standard with four-wheel-discs, the foot pedals were moved closer together, a limited slip, 3.45:1, 7.5" Traction-Lok axle was added for the first year of production (later models used a 3.73:1 ratio. Ford used a different cam in the SVO and obviously it was intercooled as well. Other than the cam, the internals of the 83-84 RS turbo’s are the same, meaning they take to modifications quite well.

Problem areas in older Fox body cars are the same. Look for rust prone areas of the body. If the car has been sitting for a long time, rust in the fuel tank may be an issue. Corroded wire terminals are a common problem on early Fox body cars as well. Other than that, it's standard stuff you'd find on any older car.
