1993 Stock 2.3 1/4 times?

Ok guys, me and my dad are going out to the local track to race . He's bringing his commuter, 98 hp 1.3 Automatic 2011 Honda Insight. 1/4 times for that are over the 18 second mark. Anybody know what a stock dual spark plug 1993 2.3 105 hp Automatic Mustang Notchback can do in the 1/4? I gotta beat him! LOL thanks guys!

Ok just researched some more and the Honda's time are 18.6 seconds versus the 2.3 is 18.7 in the 1/4. He's .1 second faster than me . LOL this is gonna be fun. I just have to secure my battery and then we're heading out to the track on a test and tune night.

Haha yeah, but he used to go out to the track when he was younger in his old '40 ford street rod. He's still got it in the garage, runs great, especially with the nitrous, but it won't pass safety inspections at the track these days. Plus his Honda and my 2.3 are really close in HP specs and 1/4 times, so it will be funny to see.

Empty everything out of your car that you can, spare tire, jack, floor mats, windshield washer bottle, rear seats, pull the air filter out of the air box and if you haven't all ready, take the baffles out of the intake muffler, run the fuel tank down to min fuel and skip a few meals. Try 44 PSI in the from tires and 30 PSI in the rear. I think you can take him!!

Best advice ever! most people dont realize how much the gas in your tank weighs. 8 pounds per gallon (not quite 8, but close).

Didn't go yet, I had to put in a battery tie down, turns out the old one had a broken rusted bolt, so it took a lot more work than I thought. So maybe next week?

Had an accident in the 'stang, so no track for a while. Fixing her up now. Need door, got a rear wheel already, and I need to swap the rear end. Long story....

Funniest thing i have ever seen is a 1L Geo Metro running a 29sec 1/4 mile pass.

Good luck.
