No spark or power to fuel pump.

Hello everyone.

Been working on my daughter 1991 LX 2.3 mustang and I'm about ready to pull out my hair. I gona do by best to explain what the issue is. She was driving it and it just died. I towed it home and started checking it out. It cranks over fine, battries good. I listened for the fuel pump running, nothing. I checked for power to the pump and found there was no power getting to it. nor is there power getting to the inersia switch. I then check the fuses. All good. searched for all the inline fuses I could find (found 6) all good. Started searching the net and learned there should be two puel pump relays. Under the seat and on the shock tower, or maybe under the dash above the computer. Weeeeelllllll.... After wasting an entire day searching for these relays I went back to the net and found the one under the seat was just a empty pluged (no relay there) I also learned the relay I was looking for was a multi function relay that sends power to the fuel pump, A/C clutch, cooling fan speed and a few other things. So I located it and got another one. Thought I would be good to go, wrong. Still no power to the fuel pump. So next I decided to check the pump itself just for good measure. I ran a hot wire to it a she started right. I kept the hot wire on and started cranking. Still wouldn't started. I then pulled a plug wire to check spark. Found there was no spark. I started searching this forum a found a thread with another member having the same issue but there was never a conclusion but many suggestion of thing to try. 1) ingnition module.. checked out good. 2) inline fuses, found 6 all good. 3) now the 3 rd was to run a hot wire over to the red wire going into the Mulit function relay. The posted said you should head a click. So a found the red wire, ran a jump wire to it and what do ya know I hear a click and the fuel pump starts pumping and the cooling fan kicks on. Cranked it over but still not start. Can anyone suggest what to try next. Switch? ECM?....

Still looking for advice. I picked up a code reader and pluged it in to the EEC test port. Nothing happened. So I went online and started tracking wires and discovered I had no power going from the switch to the Control module red/lt green wire the same wire feeds the the ICM. Tracked it all the way back and to make a long stork short I found a fried fuse link buried in the harness. But now My fuel pump will not start. I hear the relays click but there is no power getting to the pump. The inersia switch is ok. I pulled the codes and got (FUEL PUMP CIRCUIT OPEN CONNECTION-ELECTRINOC CONTROL ASSEMBLY (ECA) TO BATTERY). i ran a hot wire to the pump and I was able to drive the car. The air bag light keeps flashing three times and then a pause and so on. Can someone please lead me what to look for now.

Sounds like you have a harness fault- I would post in the 5.0 section and see if wiring specific someone might be able to help you.

Fixed it!! The wire that feeds the CCRM for the fuel pump relay was pushed back into the connector for the CCRM. From all appearences everything was good. After hours of checking every wire I decided to go thru them for a 4th time when I found the male end pushed back into the connector.
