2.3T Mods

I've added the K&N and my Gillis Valve. She be running at 18psi now. And I must say I'm impressed with her. I just bought a Vovlo Intercooler and trying to figure out how to mount it as easy as possible .

After that the next upgrade will either be to replace my IHI with my T3 or to port the heads and Intake.

I have ordered my Walbro 255 and an FPR.

I have goals of 300+ what do you guys think ?

18 psi should be 230hp now, volvo IC'c are pretty easy to do and when you upgrade the turbo, put a 3" downpipe and you'll be past 300

you ever heard of anyone doing it without removing the front nose ? I'm a bit nervous about my neighbors seeing a nose less car just laying here. And where can I find a shop manual for this car ? 88 Turbo Coupe.

My spare engine is being cleaned and rebuilt as of now and a T3/T4 will go on it instead of the current T3.

well hate to say theres no other way to put it in, unless you remove the hood latch hold and slide it in front but its kinda tight, and a Chiltons manual would work good

yeah ,

My goal is to pretty much show the world the power of the 2.3's. I wanna feature a new and upcoming ride. I wanna showcase tons of 2.3 materials. Sure most of the data is out there right now but alot of it is hard to find.

Hopefully I can let people see it with videos and actual HP recipes and all.

We can teach people the "ghetto way" or the "real deal way" of putting power to the streets.

I mean alot of people see 2.3T cars and think they are trash not knowing the power that lies under the hood. Hell I wasnt a believer until about a year ago when I started my quest.

Point is seeing is believing and until people can see videos of these cars and have data on hand they will never accept the 2.3 as the affordable powerhouse it really is.

My TC turns heads everyday and still people seem to think its a damn V8. when I say 2.3 Turbo they freak out and how big car and little engine go real fast ...

yea 2.3s own. a new up and coming ride eh? lol

most of the data out there is incomplete, and u gotta search endlessly to get info on it. if u were to accumulate all the information thrown back and forth on this site and other about 2.3s into one big site, it wud be like the mecca of 2.3 sites lol

and trust me, we know ghetto ways to get hp out of ur 2.3

2.3Ts with 300 hp is not hard and im sure its quite common, its jus a matter of telling everyone! lol

Yeah I think I wanna finesse the crowd with a 300HP TC. And then come back with my insane 2.3T hatch and take no prisoners.

I'm hoping that with the help of other 2.3 Owners we can build this up. A major flaw I see with alot of these sites is that it expects you to really know your car before screwing with it. This is good if your a car person but what about the regular people that want to learn ? Terms like T3, BOV , and FMIC could confuse the regular guy that hasnt done this before. So I propose a systems that also lets you upload pics of the work as you do it. so not only do we get your write up but we can see visuals of it which would allow us to better understand what the hell you might be trying to explain.

I agree completely that the data is out there but it is based off you knowing alot. I want to try and help take some of the guesswork out which in turn would reduce the time it takes to do some of these mods.

We could revive the Love of the 2.3's if done properly. not to mention giving them a place to learn about not just 1 car .. but all cars with this engine.

I talk with Stinger , Matt , and a few others ... I've found some really knowledgeable people out there. And the more I locate the better.

actually, thile that explains a lot, it doesnt explain everything

when i first got my car, i didnt kno shit about cars.. at all.. never bothered to learn cuz my pops is a mechanic so i said fuck it..

but anyways, i think it wud be a good idea to include a full, detailed explanation on what a turbo system is, intercooler does, and the effects it has on an engine

i also think it wud be a good idea to explain what each of the parts do in the system, why they're useful, and how to do it cheap

i been looking for a 1-stop-2.3 shop since turbolx here convinced me to turbo my own 2.3.. and i havent found anything that explains EVERYTHING

im willing to help out in any way i can, which isnt much, but i can provide suggestions

like, having a mini-stock how-to on the subject wud be great, in case ppl want to make 250-300 hp w/o turbo, s/c, or nitrous
