lmao right on guys thanks a bunch I dont mind sending you guys money or anything Just as long as I get the goods of course. But just gotta lemme know how much everything will cost and what not. and my ole mustang I had my 81 played that game with me. So I junked it.. then again what you expect from a car you buy for 50 bucks.. ran twice.. rotted out floors. nothing was salvagable..

ok well I found a wrecker that will allow me to take JUST the head complete for 75 bucks.. Think thats a good buy? Also is there any way i can tell if it has what i need just by appearance. Or will Any 2.3L Head from a Ranger or mustang that have dual plugs per cylinder(8plug total) work?

nah man

go somewhere else

or buy one on ebay

that's a waste of money

if you're gonna pay 70 you might as well buy a better cam for jus 50 more..

every one has been giving you really great advise. but I though that I would give you an explanation on why you would have to modify your drivetrain for the monster cam mentioned before. with that cam you would have a very lopey idle. which would make the car try to move while it is in drive, without you pressing the gas. this causes brake and tire wear. also the auto that come out in the 4 cylinder cars isn't good for much over 200ft/lbs of torque from my experience, without being modified. so you would need a slightly higher stall converter and at least a tranny overhaul with a shift kit to handle the power that that cam is capable of.

wow nice info

not to mention the stress you'd be putting on the stock valvetrain..

If your going to spend $75 on a head thats not usable for you and you just need the cam out of it. Its a good head to practice porting on, because if you hit water its not like you where going to use it, and if you do a good job you can sell it for some $$$$

sleeper thats another reason why im kinda hyped about this as well.. Like I mentioned.. Im much of amechanic.. like I know the basic thing. remove and replace bolt ons, setting timing. And I really want to know more. And If I for some odd reason get stumped on something I do have Mechanics that work for me that are willign to stop by and give me a hand if needed.

and Thanks for the info on why I would need to do something with my Tranny. That explains alot. But where Im goin for this head. they apparently have a whole yard full of mustangs so Im gonna check to see if any of em are standard. And check to see how much they want for everything (clutch pedal& Brake assy, cables, tranny, driveshaft, clutch plates, ect.)

If anyone has a a good guide on how to do a swap from a Auto to a Tranny it would be great to point me in that direction as well or if they can explain in a decent enough detail.
