Need Help with Annoying noise

k guys ever since I baught my mustang Ive had an annoying tick from where I dunno its fine during idle its fine at high speeds but low speeds i get a ticking noise.. not a pinging... I had the pining before my timing belt snapped on me the timing was too advanced and when I used premium octan fuel it would go away. But now that my timing is set alot better. I got not pinging just this annoying ticking noise.. Any suggestions on what it might be and how to remove.

I also know I got a rattle noise as well but thats from my timing belt cover being so bloody lose I just gotta find replacement bolts for it that properly hold it down.

might be the fan

Remove your serpentine belt and start the engine. Then you can isolate the noise to the engine/fan or something driven by the belt. With all the other noises stopped, maybe you can detect the source better. Careful of overheating running with the belt off.

try that.. see if it works

only happens during driving.. tried doin it just at idle and reving at the throttle body
Fan is also electric fan.. Normally the noise given off by that when its startin to go is a really nice squilling noise..

At higher speeds you can't hear them. Mine do the same thing since they are HLA lifters

HLA? but ya mine dont make a sound at higher speeds or idle.. thats one reason why I liked my other 89 Mustang.. once again it was an auto.. but.. thing didnt make a peep. Ran nice and smooth very well maintained motor with high milage.. but ran till I blew the tranny giving a customer a ride to work one day lol..

forgot to mention alternators good(new) water pump is also new. tensioner doesnt make any weird noises when being spun without belts attached.. the only other thing the belt goes on is the crank.
