why the crap cant i.............

why cant i burn off in my 93 2.3 lx STOCK manual trans. mustang? its like it has no acceleration. it feels real heavy. my friends mazda protega can burn off and has awesome acceleration and its a FREAKING 2.0L SADAN!!

is it because:

its to heavy should i take out the spare tire??

or WHAT ?? how can i get the thing to burn off?? and have more accel. its in perfect condition new clutch and trans. almost all the parts on that engine are new that i replaced.

i need new tires and brake pads and thats about it and the shocks need replaced to but thats IT!!

But i love my stang to death i just want it to have more power!!

you only have 105hp, and that's at the flywheel

there are a couple things you can do to get it to burn out

ranger header (or any header really, but this one is cheap)
exhaust (expensive, but it really helps)
intake (best first improvement, IMO)

you can try pullies, but they're expensive too

also, your car weighs around 2800 pounds

you can also try taking weight off the front end

tubular k-member and a-arms would drop ~50pounds

taking weight off the front end helps it accelerate too.. plus has other benefits, like braking faster and using less gas (though its very expensive)

well the 2.3 isnt designed for power

that's what the 5.0 was for

the 2.3 is for gas mileage

yea np

and 5.0 is not the answer

if you're gonna swap, you should do a 2.3T

keep all the same suspension and you'll have an engine jus as powerful

there is always disabling your egr valve

its the cheapest mod, u can cut a piece of sheet metel to fit in between and it will block it without the check engine light coming on

check it out http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/Ranger/egr.html

well ive been running about a week with it blocked off and nothing yet.. I had a lil hesitation at first.. for like the first two km that i drove around. But after that. Nothing. seems to run quiter and smoother as well.. But in general if you were to give it when you first do it you should notice abit of a difference. Normally I wasnt even able to do a burn out and now I can smoke the tires with ease. I can terp the tires like previously mentioned. Just a lil while ago leaving work I smoked the tires just by holding the break giving it gas and releasing the brake once my RPM's got to about roughly 2500. still had them spinning and smoking as i left so.. But if I do encounter anything bad ill definitly be posting

you mean the tire

unless you've installed a t-lok, you'd only be burning 1 tire

dude you can make anything do a burnout, just a matter of how the driver feels about doing it

brake stand it or drop the clutch
rev it up to about 6k and dump it, should start spinning

or keep your left foot on the clutch, put your heel of your right foot on the brake and use your toes and gas it up to about 5k and let the clutch out slowly and should brake stand

anything can do a burnout, we got the tires to peel on my buddies 3 cylinder geo no problem

Honest to god. My Lil Mustang Would not spin the tires at all. And MOS I dont have T-Lok But I had both tires spin and light up and then one stopped lol. Before if i tried doin a burn out(brake stand) either my tire would just bounce on the streetnot allowing any smoke. My brakes wouldnt hold up and id slowly creep forward.(new brake job just done not long ago. Also did the same with my 89 mustang. or My RPMS could go up and try spinning the tire but wouldnt go. and if they did go it would be like super slow. and not enough to heat up the tires to smoke
