A few questions
Right now i'm in my planning stage on my car(project streetstock) ,and i'm trying to find a few answers to a few questions.i did a search but couldn't find what i was looking for. So thanks in advance to all reply
1. what clutch would be good to run on n/a 2.3 somthing stronger than stock but without breaking the bank? 2.will the 5.0 aluminum driveshaft bolt up? 3.would it be worth it to buy a lightwheight flywheel? 4.i saw an article on the web about using ranger parts to do a 5 lug swap but lost my link if anyone has the info please let me know.would the backspacing be the same? its gonna be a built 2.3 N/A but used as an everyday driver |

Talk to a represenitive at ACT, they'll help you pick the right clutch, they did for me http://www.advancedclutch.com/
im not sure about the aluminum drive shaft but i could work if swap the yokes and dampners maybe, not much experience with them lightweight flywheel? really makes no difference i would just buy a 5 lug conversion kit and do it right

i dunno about the clutch, but a 5.0 shaft won't work on a 2.3..
lightweight flywheels bring the engine up to speed faster because there's less rotating mass in the driveline. i think 1lb off the flywheel is equivalent to 20lbs off your car (as a rough estimate) i wouldn't go lower than 10 or 10.5 lbs.. a lighter flywheel causes some streetability issues as the lighter it gets the more it wants to stall.. but you'd get used to it quickly and it wouldnt be a problem. it would be a very noticable gain in 1st and 2nd gears

BTW whats the weight on a stock flywheel?
and thanks for the answers! as far as the 5 lug conversion its a money thing i don't want to swap out the rear as i probably won't make enough power to justify the 8.8 i know its worth it, i may just wait it out and do the swap, thanks guys |

the stock flywheel weighs 21 pounds
IMO the 8.8 isn't worth it.. get an SVO rear end, they're 5 lugs and they come with better gears and a t-lok. but good luck finding one LOL
