Another quick question

I just got an offer for a 89 lx 5.0 with a blown rear and a tore clutch cable for 200 dollars, I also got an offer for a 89 turbo coupe for 300? what seems better keep my 89 2.3 and swap with 2.3 turbo or keep the 2.3 as a daily and buy the 89 5.0? are rears really expensive...

Keep in mind I do have 2 project cars already... 93 celica gt with 5fse from 98 mr2 and a 92 celica st with a 4agze sitting along side it... but i am loving my 2.3 even though i had to put a new headgasket in it already but it's still a fun little car... any thoughts??

how hard is the swap... are we talking custom wireharness or plug and play type deal? I did 2 customs and i'm not into changing the whole wire harness... but if i can just swap it i'll go for it...

I did the swap, its really not hard (so MSO when are we racing )... I'd clean it up before you throw it in... and there are a bunch of threads on how to do the swap. Do it! It's simple and well worth it.

+1

for $300 you get everything you need from it, and then you can take that rusty body to the scrap yard and get a good 100-200 for the metal.

so you're really only spending like $100-200 on it

not bad, IMO
