I'm a pain in the ass i know... more questions...

Ok... So I have 1000 miles on the mustang... Horrible to drive in the rain with less then a quarter tank it's all over the road... I think the spiders are welded but i haven't looked yet... So... here's the update on the ford...I have done the following already... I happened to be driving to my grandparents who live about 40 mins away and my car starts steaming like mad... so it's not overheating according to the gauge but antifreeze is pouring out the head onto the exhaust manifold... i let it cool down and as quick as i pour water in... it's running out... OH BOY... here the mechanic (if we can call him that) told this lady he replaced the head gasket... NO WAY IN HELL... this thing is destroyed and permatexed at the Water Jacket by the number one cylinder luckily all the antifreeze went out the block rather then In the block... also taking the exhaust manifold off I realized what the hell NO GASKET? yep no exhaust manifold gasket... bolted straight to the block... wow... poor mustang... so I bought some new fel-pro head bolts a rol gasket set and started replacing things... 2 days after i put the new timing belt on I have no heat and the hoses are all rock hard... well the thermostat was shoved in crooked and stuck closed i believe... more fun for me... I figured i'd replace the water pump while i was at it... but anyway this is what I have done so far

Oil Change
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Coolant Flush
Water Pump
Timing Belt
Head Gasket
Intake Gasket
Plenum Gasket
Exhaust Gasket (OMG IT DIDN'T HAVE ONE ON IT!!)
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Thermostat
Removed Air Silencer and Replaced with 3Inch PVC...

Ok... If u where me what comes next... and please don't say turbo!

I was thinking of opening the rear and inspecting that... changing the lube in the process obviously... The exhaust is VERY POORLY welded i mean i seen 15 year olds do better with a MIG then this guy did... wow... It leaks everywhere...

OK... Inspections aside... If i block off the egr will this help at all? what about test piping/gutting the cat? What do glasspacks sound like on 2.3s? I'm not looking at making a 300hp street car i'm looking at maybe just pepping the 2.3 up a little... making it more driveable... I live by like 3 major u-pull type yards and A ranger header would be an easy deal if i didn't have to use the egr... I've heard bigger injectors but i'm not leaning out because i am using the stock airbox yet and I only removed the snorkel to the front of the car and removed the heat line from the exhaust manifold... You guys are my 2.3 gurus and once again any help would be appreciated...

OH BTW the guy with the turbo coupe doesn't want to sell it right now he's thinking of restoring it... OMG it's body is bad... the engine has a horrible knock to it when he did start it too... so... for now... no turbo...

One more question... how the hell do i get to the antenae wire in the fend without cutting or removing the fender?

THANKS AGAIN GUYS... this is definetly one of the more helpful forums that I have been apart of...

Well the EGR block off plate does indeed make an improvement

i would do next is get a CAI and throw it on

glasspacks kinda make you lose power because theres not enough back pressure

and the N/A 2.3's love back pressure

so a nice flowmaster 40 would sound sweet on your car as well as a bit of and upgrade, yes i will sound like a V8

no bigger injectors...

Ok EGR blockoff... Do you need to wire a resistor into the wire harness? Will it throw a CEL?

what about gutting or test piping the cat?
And I'm not looking for a V8 Sound or the "Pissed off Weedwacker Sound"
I just want a little tone with less exhaust leak I did test pipe on my Celica *flame suit on* and it really made the exhaust note change... made a rumble on decel big time... also stick though... we also did this to my friends s10 4 banger and it sounded like shit... I'm just looking for ideas right now... thanks again...

you can ask cold machine what he did, he blocked his EGR off

ranger header is something to do if you want to increase some high-rpms performance

another thing that wud give it some pep and better gas mileage is an ignition box

$236.80 for an ignition box... WOW I paid 250 for the car that's almost another mustang haha... i'm looking cheap here... all in all I know have a good running daily driver with 120k on it and with everything I've done tuneup wise it only cost me 675 all together including title and new tags... I'll take some pics of the beast when i get a chance...

what's good for removing yellowing for headlights... I've heard toothpaste, novus plastic polish *tried it*, and mothers aluminum polish... any ideas?...

TurboLX and MSO - Just want to thank you guys for your help... you two definetly make the 2.3 forum what it is... thanks again guys!

Well i payed $100 for my stang and dumped atleast 4-5k into it

ignition boxes arent necessary intill you start going crazy with modding

i remember theres a few guys that make block off plates on turboford for the EGR, it shouldnt trip codes but who cares

no my plate doesnt say that, atleast not yet

but the flowmasters do give the car a nice tone

i have dual 3" dumped flowmasters from the downpipe back and it sounds mean as hell, especially with that new cam

but 93fourbangerstanger a member here just put a flowmaster on his car and is almost the same mods as you kinda and it sounds decent

http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...0-vt36489.html

as for yellow headlights, your better off just buying some new ones

as for me an mso, we woulda never started our own 2.3 forum without each other lol

OH so the 2.3 forum in your sig is your forum... sweet... I'll sign up as soon as i get a chance... haha btw ever adjust an AOD TV cable... everthing i look up says something different... ALL DATA says hold it WOT and lock the clip, Haynes says do it at idle position, My chilton gives some half-way point with a pressure gauge... I never had so many contradictory stories for a over-rated kickdown cable

the DSM guys seem to like mothers aluminum and mag polish... either that or 2000 grit wetsanding, then plastic polish the hell out of it, and then clear coating them... the 92-94 eclipse/talons have been notorious for yellow lights...

I don't feel like wetsanding my headlights though... there's so much better things i could be doing... like getting drunk
