Junkyard TC Motor

I was roaming the junkyard earlier today lookin for some parts for my cherokee and i reached the end of the junkyard and i saw this older Thunderbird sitting by itself. Initially i thout it was jus an ol T-bird wit a v6 or something and walk up to the side of it and under the hood i see Turbo on the valve cover. The motor was stripped of the intake and exhuast manifolds but the entire long block's still there.. I wanted to take some pics, but didnt have the camera...Im gonna go back n take some later.. It's still got the rear end in it too...That's a plus.

Im considering pulling the motor and doing a turbo swap and maybe the rear end if it's not too much work....What do you guys think?

All that's left is the upper intake manifold, tb, vam, and the longblock. A couple pulleys too, but all the accessories are gone. The trannys and automatic...I'll leave that. But the internals may be worth something. That is if they're not blown to pieces. Hopefull there's nothing really wrong with it..Maybe a headgasket blew or something. I can deal with that. And I didn't look, but im 99.9% positive someone got the ecu out of there.

I found a 2.3 T about 30 miles from my house, some guy was advertising it in the classifieds with all accessories included, he priced it for $350.00, so I called him cause I wanted one for the stang. I was one day to late, he sold it the day before for $250.00 dollars, apparently the motor only had 70,000 miles on it. 'DAMN'

i would be cautious running the AOD behind a stock AOD from a four cly
most people who do it they dont last too long stock. The correct name for the trans is A4LD so to clear that up. The first thing to change is the vac regulator on the trans so one that is designed to hold boost.

The car has a decent interior...it's red and it has good exterior parts as well..The car has a 05 vin sticker on it so it's still pretty whole for a car that's been there for 2-3 years.

There's actually a couple TCs going through www.modifiedcartrader.com right now, if I were still in the market for the 2.3T motor I would have one of those cars in my driveway right now!

I think you could be screwed. I know you guys have the 15 year importation limit (so you can straight bring an SVO), but I don't think you will be able to get your hands on one already in Australia. I have a feeling you will have to import one, which means you will want to go through a dealer on the west coast, otherwise you could have a problem as to whether the seller wants to put it on the boat for you.
