Help In Identifing Year Of 2.3 Engine

Tbird replica w/2.3L
Need help in identifiing what year the engine is. No records came with the car, so have no idea. Kit was built in 1982, but when I got tune-up parts for a 82, they were not the same. Any help is greatly appreciated.

any pics of the motor? Carb'd or efi? There may be some tag #'s on the dist and some other items that may help to narrow down what year it is. Also, most 2.3's had a paper label on the valve cover that has the calibration code. They also usually have a date code on them.
