2.3T to get Camaro running mate

I think GM finally saw the following of the SVO Mustangs and decided they are going to do the same with the Camaro. I'ts going to get the 2.0L turbo motor out of Sky/Solstice that makes 260hp. I do not foresee huge success for this drivetrain option, but I do have a feeling it will have a loyal following (just like our 2.3s) and there will be a large enough aftermarket for this car to obtain some real power.

I just hope it doesn't die like the Cougar or Nova or Cutlass did... I doubt that GM would have the balls to kill an american icon, but look at the nova and cutlass.. they went from muscle to fwd economy cars.. same with the cougar. I have much respect for GM and I think a turbo 4 would be a great idea, especially with gas prices climbing, but to me the definition of a muscle car is an unneccesarily powerful v8 in a small car. I just hope and pray they keep it rear wheel drive. Hell, I'd still buy a '09 V6 Camaro though.. 300hp? Damn.. that's the same as the S197's V8 and better fuel economy

The talk of the GM boards is that the V6 Camaro will outdo the current V8 Mustang, so the V8 Camaro will be in a league with the base Corvette and Porsche Boxster.

The V6 is confirmed to be cranking more than 300hp and the V8 will make around 425.

supposed to be the 3.6 dohc direct injected six thats in the CTS
pretty good drivetrain
