Hey I got a Problem

Hey, I just bought a 1991 Ford Mustang 2.3L from my Uncle. I got the car home and was running it and I can’t seem to get the car to go thought the RPM range. It goes to like almost three thousand and then hits what sounds like a rev limiter, or something. I have taken out the air intake thing but that’s about it. Does anyone have an Idea of what would be causing this to happen?

Check the plugs, coil, distributor, timing, and plug wires.

Sounds like its in one of those. I had the same problem tweaked my timing and changed the coil and it fixed the problem. Mostly electrical wiring.
