Recycled Air?
Just threw a new air filter in my 87 2.3l and noticed a hose which leads exaust back around to the air box. Why would ford want to run hot air back through the engine? Seems like something that'd be a good idea to remove. I guess I would have to block off the holes... anybody removed this thang?

that's connected to the positive crankcase ventaltion valve (pcv valve.)
it vents blowby pressure. leave it there.

mine has been removed when i did my header. no importance to it.. Seriously think it was more there to keep the manifold cool maybe to reduce the tempature in the engine bay ?
