the e30 m3 was a 1.8 supercharged 4cyl it outruns lt1s id call that a success and the cobalt ss's arent that bad. when you go for forced induction you think about what your gonna use the car for and then decide turbo or supercharger. Also i might add that with a supercharger you dont have to wait for you boost like a turbo.

yes an also look at the difference in engineering....lets face it the ford 2.3L, was decades behind the E30 M3 as far as technology goes.

not really i had an e30 there not that different there actually very simple there just a pain in the ass to work on because were ford uses 4 bolts they use 8 and a weld lol. but the technology was not better just because it says bmw people think ooooo thats complicated lol. also you could try a centrifugal supercharger they are like a hybrid between the to you get constant boost like a supercharger but you get the most boost in a certain rpm band like a turbo.

i know, im not saying they were like space ships lol, just saying the quality of the design was alot better. I've owned a BMW so i too can agree they're a bitch to work on. I've also owned 2 turbo coupes and a Super coupe, and i'll say from experience i loved the turbo coupes waaaay better than the super coupe.

its just all personal opinion i like them because i always race on a road course so supercharger is just whats better for me because the boost is always there. i actually prefer them for drag to my e30 was the eta so turbo was perfect for it because of stock 8.1.1 compression. it was awesome till i blew the clutch and didnt wanna risk screwing up the carrier bearing by doin it my self and a good shop wanted 700 hundred to do the clutch.

i'm not sure about the head...i mean like i said had the turbo coupe head which is not the same as the ranger head. But when i had mine i ran 22-24 psi CONSTANTLY!! and the only problem i ever had was once it got boosting that high it'd cause it to cut out the spark, so i just re gapped the plugs to like .38 i think it was and it did kinda idle rough sometimes but when i got on it, in full boost it ran like a champ.

wow thats awesome i couldnt run that much boost in the beamer because i had to run a smaller turbo that would spool faster cuz i redlined at 4700rpm but with a smaller turbo making the most of it i ran 12psi most of the time it was enough to make it haul ass. but damn i wish i couldve ran 22-24psi that thing woulda ran 10's
