I just did a similar move. 2005 mazda 3 special edition passed down to the wife and I bought a 2007 GT coupe.
great move.

i already have the K&N 69 series cold air. I am thinking pulleys, axle backs, throttle body spacer, diablosport tune. Steeda springs. After that, I dont know. I would like to build a nice sleeper setup.
I do not want supercharger / turbo / nitrous. I want a mainly bolt-on street car. After all, it is a daily driver.

i know the older mustangs have the reputation of being the worse car when it snows and rains, are the new ones basically the same? or did ford make them somewhat better?

yeah my 8 is always giving me problems, especially in the real hot summer days it doesnt want to run right. They had a huge recall for the rx-8 engines or some crap and i think this year or the next they're going to stop making the rx-8's and the rx-7's are coming back out.my engine is a ticking time bomb ready to explode...i NEED THAT V8!

About that snow and rain....I agree that the traction control is great in the rain...I feel pretty safe with it. we don't get much snow in Florida so no comment on that one.

Well then.... lol...let me address that one:
![]() That's mine on the snow. I had it out only to give it a run, and put some fresh gas in her. Just for fun, I punched it, just a little, on the snow, and by the time the traction control kicked in the car was going sideways. So, no, not a great snow car, although some serious snow tires would prolly go a long way to fixing that. But who wants to drive their Stang in the snow anyway! lol. Good luck with whatever you do lee. Rick

It's a Mustang GT California Special. It includes things like:
* Larger Air Intake * Custom Intake Engine Cover w/pony emblem * Integrated Chin Spoiler * 1.5-inch lower ride height than Mustang GT * Hood Scoop * Side Scoops * GT/CS Decals along the front fender and door * Diffuser Rear Wing * California Special Floor Mats * Bright rolled dual exhaust tips * 18-inch polished aluminum 5-spoke wheels (64W) And that's what I did lee, I bought an old winter beater for a couple hundred bucks.

It's actually not a whole lot more expensive than a regular GT, when I was buying mine, I believe it was only another 1500 bucks, and that's here in Canada where everything from goats to love is far more expensive

It's certainly worth looking into if it's something you wind up really liking the looks of.

i've driven the rx8 and i wasn't very impressed. it did handle well, but now that i have lowered my 07, added LCA's, tokico d-specs, panhard bar and support, and some nice wide sticky tires.
now this thing will take the on/off ramps as fast as that rx8. i was going about 60 around one yesterday and could've gone a bit faster, but i didn't want to chance hitting some sand from the ice storm.
