^ it does make sense.

And I will be going to richmond on saturday for their test and tune. I might run....Idk just yet. I can't hook I keep running 13.8's at 105-106 with a 2.2-2.4 60ft and I am not going to pay $30 to suck. But Maybe I will hook or something. I think that I am overpowering the tires if that makes any sense. And I don't have a really badass setup either..

It was polishing the matte-powdercoat on my Steeda strut tower brace (which no longer fits my TVS)...and my clearance is going to be super-tight once I install my custom billet strut tower brace over top my TVS unit. Plus, I didn't want it to chafe my carbon fiber TVS air intake's finish.

Navy, I took mine off just to check to see if it would let a STB fit better. It looked fine on mine, no yellow or shit.

Come on, you'd rather chafe your TVS air intake than your ass right?

On a serious note, I'd like to know which strut tower brace would work with my Whipple and RK Sport ducted hood.

Couldn't tell you...my search for a pre-made one has failed. Mine will be a custom billet one-off that a friend of mine is making. It will be moto-porn.

yeah my last car and I had a fight with that part. There were probably at least half of them still in the hood.

Dudes, a panel popper tool makes removal very easy. Sears, has individual tools or Harbor freight has a whole kit for $14.00. Mine is the Sears "Lisle" brand and it was less than ten bucks for the one tool.

- Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

Naw, my new setup will be precision machined, and the hood blanket is no factor as it has gone adios.

I am modifying the two ribs under the hood adjacent to the center part and using my stock hood.

I meant the air intake tube and liner.

Okay, so taking mine out. If the damned motor catches fire, it had better suck that back down or I'll let it burn. I can always upgrade to a used GT500! Heh. Of course, this regarding the hood insulation material. Sorry, I don't get online all the time anymore.

Sorry to bump up an older thread. If you're still having under hood issues I'm always out here making liners from aircraft firewall material, with heat resistant decals, if you guys want to replace your stock insulator. The most info and pics are on my blogspot page, the link is below.
