Here is the rundown, the Whipple is way louder than the KB (I say this from first hand experience, not opinion) on the s197 stangs. The Whipple runs cooler temps and has an easier install. The KB does have more displacement. The Whipple is an overall better kit. We have the Whipples discounted until the end of March, let me know if I can help you out! Please let me know if you have any questions about the kit!

I agree i love my kb but given the chance again imight of got the saleen or the whipple or even a paxton.Had issues with my car's behavior contacted kb and they couldn't help me ,they said one thing a then said something else later on.Don't get me wrong i am not saying anything bad about the product but the tech service could be better and for all that money they make DAM IT they could employ and train a staff to handle phone calls,i think they take the phone of the hook then put it back on every few.

i dont see how what car the blower is on makes ay difference, its the blower RPM that matters how much noise it makes most of the time, yes the whipple runs more RPM to make the same boost the bigger blower would, but a whipple is still almost silent, im running the 2.3 at 17PSI on the street, and cant hear it at all.

KC, I thought you said your Whipple was loud which is why you wanted to switch to a turbo.

I was on the fence for a while between the Whipple kit and KB, finally went with Whipple from Mickey at Hardcore Mustangs Redirect. The biggest deciding factors were the fact that it came with absolutely everything you need, including fuel pump over boostapump. The installation is supposed to be easier overall as well. Mickey also mentioned something about Whipple waving a newer, more efficient version of their kit available now.

What is the best option i can get without having to make any other major modification. Only looking for like 400 to 415 hp. I do not want to have to update transmission or heads yadadada.

Just want to get kit and have installed. What is the hp amount for whipple on stock?

the whipple intercooled kit will net you 450-470 whp, which is about 520 or so flywheel HP. you look like your looking for the non intercooled kit which will get you where you want to be.

I mean no disrespect, but if you think the Whipple is quiet, I would get my hearing checked. I have installed Saleen and Whipples and ridden in a KB powered S197...The Whipple ABSOLUTELY destroys the other two as far as loudness. I promise you the Whipple is 10x louder than the KB (FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE!!).

the blower itself makes no noise, its the RR non slip pulley, and the exhaust thats loud as hell.

Those numbers clearly indicate modified packages. You really cant compare the two that way...

lol yeah i live about 5 minutes away if i walk. certain cams are for N/A cars, certain cams are for F/I cars, and some can fit in both. if you go to brenspeed they have NSR cams which will work with both and the great thing about the cams are that you can use your factory springs for it, instead of paying the extra $400 for aftermarket ones.

i have a whipple on my car running much more boost than the people here are running, we have one on out 07 GT shop car with built motor, and all on 16PSI, and its jsut as quiet as mine.

i also have had a KB 2.2 on a previous car... now THAT was a loud blower. and i also have a 2.8H sitting beside me that was on my friends car, and was also pretty loud, and have ridden in, and driven several other KB cobra's, 2.2, 2.4, 2.6H, and 2.8H. every one of the KB's have been louder than the whipple. my whipple, and every other one ive heard is dead silent. its the air rushing around in the blower that makes the noise, doesnt matter what car its on.

The Kenne Bells were incredibly loud on the Termis, that is a fact....much louder than the Whipples on the Termis at least. I have been driving around one of our Whippled GTs all week and it is tremendously loud! It drowns out the MAC axlebacks with ease. I understand what makes the "whining" sound from the blower.

We also just tuned a 587rwhp Whipple Terminator and that thing was LOUD. One of the loudest blowers I have ever heard. No doubt, the Kenne Bell on the Termis is the king of supercharger whine

The 7psi kit would be about right for the gains you are trying to achieve. From the newer SC stangs I have heard so far I would say the KB for the 3Vs was quieter then the Whipple ones. Originally I wanted the KB because it would be quieter, but I happened to get a good deal for a Whipple, so went with it. As a plus the Whipple is a more complete kit IMO.
