Info on NSR cams

I just got two different sets of comp cams in stock today and figured i would share some info i got from comp cam with you guys.
(I love getting new parts delivered even when they arent for my car)

You guys know i love these cams. for the money you save in parts and labor, its like cheating.

I got the 127050 and 127200 NSR cams.

The 127050 is milder and suppose to be good on the low end power and TQ, with no tune comp said you could see 25plbs of TQ and 25hp accross the rpm range on stock 3vs. its also good on gas.

The 127200, which I have in my stang is considered a little more aggressive and more peak power. comp said that with tuneing they have seen as much as 40hp and 30tq, and this cam will pull up to 6500rpm. (so back to the tuner for me)

He also said that comp now has 3 more grinds of NSR cams. Believe me, I will be researching these new grinds and letting you know what I find out.

Anyway for you gears heads here is the skinny

127200 int exh

ok i'm going to sound stupid, but all you have to do is install these cams (i mean the one without a tune) and boom you have an extra 25hp? with no extra parts needed? and for how much, and is this something i could do myself? yes i have experience building engines, (small block chevys) but these mod motors are a new kind of beast!

Thats what comp said. And i didnt do any tune for my cams, with the 127200 cams, and kooks long tubes i picked up 42 hp and 17 tq with no tune. Dyno sheet is in my garage. Thats why i said back to the tuner. Yes you could do it yourself, you just need to the tool to lock the timeing and you dont even need to take the front cover off.

looking for you now. Im on hold with ford racing.

I didnt do it myself. hell my cam install cost me the same as my gear install, thats why i bought these. and i paid $95 an hour to have them put in, if u get a better rate then that and someone who has done it before your looking at 4 to 5 hours of labor charge.

Alright. It is a tool you can get from a ford dealer. I cant find the part # or a link to it. I will check just so i have this info, for the future but i cant do it today, but you could get that info faster if you called your ford dealership service department. it allows you to lock the timeing and change the cams without removeing the front cover. you dont need to change cam gear or anyting else, you need the cams and cam phaser bolts thats it.
